Technical assistance in sustainability assessment, communication and reporting of EDP

Identified need

Assessing different dimensions of environmental performance requires working with large volumes of information and specific methodologies for each indicator.

The objective is to consolidate the work carried out in previous years, improve consistency across metrics and reduce duplication through a common system that facilitates both the regular updating of results and their use in internal analysis and reporting processes.

Technical assistance in sustainability assessment, communication and reporting of EDP

Client profile

EDP is an international energy group operating in electricity generation, distribution and supply, with a significant presence in renewable energy. Its strategy incorporates decarbonisation and sustainability criteria into the development of its projects and operations, including the planning and operation of renewable energy assets and the monitoring of the environmental performance associated with its activities.

Methodological approach and work process

At Baisma, we carry out the environmental footprint, circular economy, water footprint and critical raw materials calculations for the 2024 and 2025 reporting years. The work includes reviewing and harmonising data, updating calculation factors and methodologies, and automating different processes within a tool specifically adapted to EDP.

We also develop outputs and infographics designed to facilitate the interpretation of results and comparative analysis across activities, business units and indicators.

Results and value generated

The project provides EDP with an integrated view of its environmental impact based on a common inventory and a traceable methodology.

The automation and standardisation of calculations reduce the effort required in future reporting cycles, facilitate comparison of results over time and generate structured information that can be used both for decision-making and for environmental and sustainability reporting processes.
